Dingo!!!
Living rural , people are always dumping their dogs on our road. We have had quite the menagerie of dogs show up at our place. They usually show up starving and scared. Some stay just long enough to fill their empty stomachs so Randy can catch them. I do not know what happens to them after that....I don't ask. Some have been adopted by us, getting to stay with us as long as they want. Roxie was with us for almost 6 years before she died this past spring. The latest dog(?) to show up is in the pictures above. Randy says it looks very wild, perhaps being half coyote. I am not sure. It does have pointy ears and a pointy face. It is like a phantom around here, only showing up to steal the cat's food. We happen to see it one morning stealing the cat's food and I was able to snap a few pictures. What do you think? Is it just a mutt or part coyote. Although we do not plan for it to stay, we did name it...Dingo....you know...the wild Australian dogs!

Long Time No Blog
Ok, I know it has been a while since I posted anything. Number one: I went back to work. Number two: I have become addicted to Facebook! What has been going on with us here at 316 Bruce Hyatt Road?
Like I said, I went back to work. Before I had to be there, I was in my classroom several days getting it ready. I am teaching 5th grade this year. I really meant to take a picture of my bulletin board and classroom, even bringing the camera with me. I forgot to though. I have 24 students, 12 boys and 12 girls. So far I have been calling them my "dream team", at least the first 4 days of school were good ones.
Randy and I sold our first item on Ebay. We sold our camper/hurricane escape pod to an older couple from around the Shreveport area. We just bought the camper(on Ebay) not quite a year ago, but realized that it does not serve us well for we can not bring the motorcycle with us(See older posts with horse trailer). We want a toyhauler. A camper that lets us camp in it and haul the bike. We are on the look out for a good deal, but no rush. Let us hope we don't need a hurricane escape pod, although the older gentleman who bought the camper said we were welcome to stay up there with them.
Last week I was so beat from being on my feet all day, I did not do anything....except check the Facebook. Randy is as addicted to it as I am. Facebook is a great way to keep up with people you do not see very often.
I felt a bit of fall in the air. I am ready for that change. Two weeks until LSU football!

Flashbacks
Randy's Maw Maw and Jacob.
Randy's mom and dad on their
40th wedding anniversary.
My favorite picture of Jacob and I. Yes, my hair
was that long!
My parent's grandchildren and great grandchild...Christmas 08.
A week ago, I promised to show the family resemblance that I thought was the strongest. The picture I am looking for needs to be scanned. I have been busy with back to school activities, and have not looked for the picture. When Randy and I first married we took slides of everything. I began a project of converting all our slides to digital. I still have a long way to go. The picture I am looking for needs to be scanned. In order to add to the blog, I looked through the slides I have already scanned and found some of my favorites.

Family Resemblance
After reading Lynetta's blog where she compared her babies, Aaron, and her. I started thinking about who my children look like. On the left is me at age 4. On the right is Jacob at almost 6, his kindergarten picture. I would have to say there is a strong resemblance there, although when Jacob was a baby he had light colored hair and favored Randy.
I discovered part of my reason why it was taking so long for my pictures to post. They were huge. I had to resize. These pictures had been scanned
